Why BravoAdTM

Chlorinated Synthetic Resins introduced as BravoAdTM series have a collection of diverse backbone polymer with controlled chlorination which offers unique flexibility for development of customized polymers for specific applications.

BravoAdTM series of Chlorinated synthetic resins offers following unique properties:

  • No reactive double bonds in the polymer & cannot be oxidized and resolved easily
  • Non reactive polymer structure resulting in non yellowing resin, suitable for exterior applications.

Low & Medium molecular weight Chlorinated synthetic resins are widely used as an additive in printing inks & coatings for improving adhesion to polyolefin flexible film & Plastics. With the growth of flexible packaging industry there is increase in consumption of Bopp film for print & Lamination.

The Basic characteristics of the surface properties of Bopp offer limited adhesion of solvent borne printing inks. There is specific need to add chlorinated synthetic resins to get 100% adhesion of ink to film substrate.

BravoAdTM series of Synthetic Resins are designed for following applications:

Chlorinated Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (CEVA)

Chlorinated Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (CEVA) is a chlorinated polyolefin, mainly used for superior grade of printing inks and adhesive to polyolefin substrate. It is a white or light yellow solid, which is prepared through the chemical modification of synthetic resin (polymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate). It has elasticity like rubber, good solubility and fluidity at room temperature.

Applications

CEVA is a very good binder used in for improving the properties of adhesion, luster, dispersibillity, wettability, wear resistant and corrosion resistant.

Adhesives: It is extensively used in paintings and coatings, especially in compound painting andadvanced plasticcomposite ink production. It can improve the adhesive property of the painting to plastic films results in the improvement in the quality of the patterns.

Coatings: Wide demand of CEVA in the application of ship coatings, road marking coatings, swimming poolpaintings, chemical equipment and decorating painting of wood and cement.

Others: CEVA can be used to produce tube, insulation of cables and wires and shoes.

USAGE

General usage of this product is to dissolve in toluene or other solvent, compounding liquid of this product of 25 %, and then adding into printing ink according to formula of ink.

Chlorinated Polypropylene (CPP) …..

CPP is a transparent and elastic thermoplastic have high rigidity, wear-resistance, acid proofing, salt & water tolerance and aging preventing property. It is readily soluble in organic solvents and can be easily heat-sealed with untreated or pretreated polypropylene film. CPP is the major component of printing ink, used along with Chlorinated EVA.

Applications

CPP has very good adhesion to polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), paper and on aluminum film substrate. Major

areas where CPP is used are as follows

Ink: CPP is extensivelyused in gravure ink for printing on BOPP, OPP, PVC and PE,used as packing film of candyand BOPP composite packing. It is a very good binder for thermal ink also.

Coatings: CPP is used as a composite adhesive between paper and films of BOPP, OPP, PE, AL etc., and an innercoating for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape of BOPP films. It is also used as adhesive for PP and PE and as brightener paints.

OTHERS:Due to strong affinity with pigment, good film-forming and glossiness properties, widely used as colorant forplastic modification and as paint binder for polypropylene injection molding wares, inner decorative material of house and industrial equipment. CPP can also be used in laminated board of PP film and aluminum foil, seal agent of joint of PP pipe, flexibility agent of PP fiber, adhesive agent of thermal bonding film and skid proof agent of PP packing.

USAGE

Dissolve the product into toluene or other solvents to prepare a solution of 25 % and then add the solution into the ink based on the ink formulation.
