AceCelTM Microcrystalline Cellulose, Air Stream Dried

The AceCel brand of MCC is produced through Air Stream Drying. The two most common grades in this category are AceCel 101 and AceCel 102. AceCel 101 is one among the most common grades of MCC, which is slightly fine in nature.

This grade is Air Stream Dried and thereafter mechanically disintegrated to attain the desired physical properties and size. The average particle size varies from 50 to 60 Microns, with bulk density ranging from 0.27 to 0.32 gm/CC.  This grade is well suited for wet granulation, roller compaction and spheroniation. AceCel 102 is a medium particle size standard  MCC grade, with an average particle size of 100 Microns. This grade is mostly suited for directly compressible actives.

Grade Avg. Particle Size, Microns Bulk Density g/cc Main Applications
AceCel 101 50 0.28-0.34
  • Fine Standard grade MCC,  suited for wet granulation, roller compaction &spheronisation
AceCel 102 100 0.28-0.34
  • Medium size standard MCC grade, suitable for majority of the directly compressible actives, combines good flow and high compressibility
AceCel 105 20 0.25 to 0.30
  • Fine Standard grade MCC,  suited for wet granulation, roller compaction &spheronisation
AceCel 103 50 0.28 to 0.34
  • Equal grade to 101, but with very low moisture content, for processing water sensitive actives
AceCel 301 50 0.34 to 0.45
  • Equal to 101, but with higher bulk density and improved flow properties
AceCel 112 100 0.32 to 0.36
  • Equal to 102, but with low moisture content, for processing water sensitive actives

There are many other grades of AceCel with varying properties and need of the customer and their application.
